About the Bulacan State University (www.bulsu.edu.ph) 

Bulacan State University (BSU) is a state-funded institution of higher learning established in 1904 
and converted into a university in 1993. BSU is mandated to provide higher professional / 
technical training and to promote research, advanced studies and progressive leadership on 
Business Administration, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Education, Arts and Science, 
Information Technology, Law, Public Administration and other courses. Today, the University 
offers seventeen-degree programs to address this mandate. The University’s three campuses are 
located in Malolos, about half an hour drive from metropolitan Manila. Its current student 
population is about 19,000. BSU has been identified by the Commission on Higher Education 
(CHED) as one of the higher education institutions in the Philippines leading in the various 
disciplines as Centers for Excellence / Development. BSU has further been named by this 
authority as one of the 30 universities recommended for Chinese students, and is listed in the 
overseas universities network monitored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s 
Republic of China (Jiaoyu Shewai Jianguan Xinxi Wang), demonstrating it has achieved the 
highest level of standards in instruction, research and extension services. BSU has signed 
collaboration agreements with the Northwest University and the University of Shanghai Science 
& Technology and set up an authorized learning centre in Guangzhou, all indicating that the 
University is well received in the Mainland. 

International Recognition 

All BSU undergraduate and postgraduate programs are duly recognized by the Commission on 
Higher Education (CHED) of the Republic of the Philippines and duly accredited by the 
Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP), 
and thereby recognized worldwide, as AACCUP is a full member of the International Network for 
Quality Assurance in Higher Education (INQAAHE). Being also a member of the International 
Association of Universities (IAU), the UNESCO-based worldwide association of universities, its 
degrees are internationally recognized. 

DBA is a prestigious and respectable academic award. On completion of the program, graduates 
will be entitled to use the title “Dr.” before their names.
